In the mid 26th century, humans live in sealed subterranean domed colonies called Grôköpol. They are taught no one can survive the outside world, a void they call Externum Inanis. A young man challenges Grôköpol doctrine, is punished for his heresy and then cast into this void. His younger brother refuses to accept his brother is forever lost. It takes more than courage for the boy to go after his brother. Believing his brother's predictions that the void is a conspiracy to subjugate his people, he soon finds himself in a hostile and unimaginable alien world full of challenges that take him on a journey far beyond his wildest dreams.
