Back in the 9th grade I had my first experience with a foreign language (French) and I was in love! Languages became the focus of my life for many years and still hold a strong fascination. As a result of this "linguamory" and an even longer fascination with codes and ciphers, I began to develop an alien language. These aliens could not be just any aliens. They needed some place incredible to come from. I began (from a love of cartography) to draw and build maps of this alien world I call Grivantia.
Grivantia is not a world as astronomers now think of a habitable world. Perhaps because the sentient beings (I call them the Gaonz) that come from Grivantia are very advanced and very ancient compared to mere Earthlings. Grivantia is 8.2 times the size of Earth. It orbits the red dwarf (Shiy^Lasha) in a binary system. It's sister star, Txeron, is warm enough yet far enough away that it still effects Grivantian's climate. Once every seven years the twin stars align with Grivantia's companion planet, Qo and her two moons, Nroql and Mlehld in such a way that great tides expose huge swaths of land from Grivantian's shallow oceans during Payus, the Great 7-year tides.
